It’s easy to keep faith as a largely internal experience — private prayers, personal devotions, Sunday mornings. And those things matter deeply. But something transforms when faith moves from the inside out.
Jesus was asked to summarise the whole of the law. He gave two answers: love God, and love your neighbour. Not one or the other — both. Together. The implication is clear: love for God, if it is genuine, will always find its way to the person next door.
What does that look like practically? It might be checking on an elderly neighbour. Volunteering at a food bank. Listening — really listening — to a friend who’s struggling. The gestures don’t have to be grand. In fact, the quiet, consistent acts of ordinary kindness may matter more than the spectacular ones.
